In the call and response tradition located throughout the Black diaspora, artists and writers Llanor Alleyne and Nyugen E. Smith combine prose, and poetry to critically engage topics of invisibility, tourism, sites of memory, and value of the arts resulting from their 2017 collaborative intervention at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society (BMHS) titled, The Guard. The publication was designed by Dominic Skeete, founder of Empryeal design studio. Located in Bridgetown, Barbados, Empyreal specializes in logo development, brand identity, system and packaging design.
The special eidtion of The Guard arrives in a custom designed box containing one signed copy of the publicaiton and one limited edition archival print, also signed by the artists.
