Below is a (2 minutes & 11 seconds) video musically speaking in a fictional language. I was exploring the performative aspect of spoken language, injecting an implied understanding of the “words” performed despite the fictional aspect of the language, working to keep rhythm while inventing the language.  The work is also a reflection on the oral and musical traditions in the African diaspora. After the recording was made, the “verse” was then transcribed.
